Dear Bulldogs,

Bill 550On behalf of everyone here at Bryant University, I hope this note finds you well and enjoying your summer. Thanks to you and your continued support of Bryant Athletics, the 2024-25 year was an incredible year of accomplishments.

Men’s basketball won the America East Conference Championship before a sold-out Chace Athletic Center in March, earning a trip to the NCAA Division I tournament where the Bulldogs took on Michigan State in the first round. This spring, women’s tennis captured the Ohio Valley Conference Championship, also earning a spot in the NCAA tournament as the Bulldogs traveled to Durham, NC to face Duke University in the first round.  In addition, men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, and baseball all won their respective America East Conference regular season championships, rounding out a tremendous year.

As a result, Bryant University was the recipient of the Stuart P. Haskell Commissioner’s Cup, a prestigious trophy awarded annually to the top program for overall athletic achievement in the America East Conference.
In the classroom, we were just as successful. This past semester, our student-athletes recorded an average GPA of 3.43 – the highest GPA of all time. A total of 403 student-athletes earned Dean’s List honors plus an incredible 64 earning a PERFECT 4.0!

As you have seen, the landmark House v. NCAA settlement was given final approval by Judge Claudia Wilken of the Northern California District of California, paving the way for new framework for the future of college athletics that will require changes for universities, athletics departments, and student-athletes nationwide.

The four key areas of the settlement are: Approval for institutions to directly share revenue with student-athletes; new roster limit guidelines; third-party Name Image, and Likeness (NIL) agreements over $600 in value will be evaluated by the new College Sports Commission for fair market value assessment; and NIL back damages for student-athletes from 2016 to 2024.

Thanks to the incredible support of President Gittell, university administration and board of trustees, Bryant University is prepared to opt-in to the settlement and ready to continue to compete for championships well into the future.

As always, I will share with you updates as we navigate this new era of college athletics.  For more information and to make a gift in support of our more than 800 Bulldogs, be sure to visit www.BryantBulldogs.com.

Thank you for your continued support.

Go Bulldogs!
