DeGeorge's Seven Goal Showcase Pushes Bryant Past LIU 11–7

BROOKVILLE, NY – Behind a dominant performance from Emily DeGeorge, Bryant secured an 11–7 victory over LIU on Wednesday afternoon in Brookville, New York.

DeGeorge went on to deliver seven goals to LIU, breaking her previous career high of six goals in a single game, to fuel the Bulldogs' offense. Bryant built an early lead, taking a 3–1 advantage after the first quarter and holding off LIU's second-quarter push to go into halftime up 6–5, letting LIU grab the lead once through the entire match. A five-goal third quarter helped the Bulldogs pull away, followed by a defensive shut down in the fourth sealed Bryant's third win of the season.

With the victory, Bryant improves to 3–1 on the year.

How It Happened

Quarter 1:
Emily DeGeorge set the tone early, netting two unassisted goals in the opening minutes. Riley O'Mara followed with another score, giving Bryant a 3–0 advantage. LIU responded late in the quarter with a goal from Lindsey Lucia, cutting the Bulldogs' lead to 3–1.

Quarter 2:

LIU gained momentum in the second, scoring three of the first four goals in the quarter, including another from Lucia to tie the game at 3–3. Gabriella Constant helped Bryant regain the lead, but LIU answered with back-to-back goals to go up 5–4. The Bulldogs responded just before halftime with DeGeorge striking twice, once off an assist from Riley O'Mara and again with a feed from Elise Larsen to give Bryant a 6–5 lead at the half.

Quarter 3:

Bryant took control in the third quarter, outscoring LIU 5–1. DeGeorge continued her campaign scoring two more goals to push the lead to 7–5. O'Mara and Isabelle Katter added to the Bulldogs' total before DeGeorge capped the quarter with her sixth goal of the game, extending Bryant's lead to 11–6.

Quarter 4:

LIU's Lindsey Lucia found the net early in the fourth, but Bryant's defense locked in from there, shutting out the Sharks for the remainder of the game. Goalkeeper Sam Centofante recorded two key saves in the closing minutes to secure the 11–7 win for the Bulldogs.

  • Emily DeGeorge recorded a season-high seven goals, responsible for more than half of Bryant's scoring.
  • Riley O'Mara added two goals and one assist, while Gabriella Constant and Isabelle Katter each contributed a goal.
