Bryant Men’s Swimming and Diving Fall To Binghamton

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's swimming and diving team fell to last year's America East champions, the Binghamton Bearcats, with a final score of 232-121 at Saunders Aquatic Center.

The Bulldogs are now 1-1 on the season.


Notes and Notables:
  • Christopher Buonocore led the Bulldogs in diving, winning both the 1m (284.33) and the 3m (300.83) dives.
  • Leo Luna dominated the 1000 free finishing first after competing neck and neck with Binghamton swimmers until the final lap, winning by three seconds with a time of 9:30.62. Luna also took first in the 500 free (4:38.22).
  • Griffin Lajoie placed second in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 51.46.
  • Tim Andrews finished second in a tight race for the 200-yard butterfly (1:52.45).
  • Aidan Trenery took second in the 200-yard IM (1:55.97).
  • The 400 and 200-yard medley squad (Lajoie, Austin, Andrews) ; (Lajoie, Austin, Misto) placed second with a time of 3:26.77 and 1:32.82.
  • The 400 free relay (Misto, Toepfer, Rownson) took second with a time of 3:04.27.

Next Up:
The Bulldogs will head to Providence College on Saturday, November 1st, for an Ocean State matchup.
