CUMBERLAND, R.I. -- The Bryant University men's tennis team split a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Fore Court.

The Bulldogs fell to NJIT, 4-3, before downing Nichols 7-0.

How it Happened

• Playing its first Southland Conference opponent, Bryant raced out to a 3-1 lead on NJIT.
• The Bulldogs won at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Diego Serra Sparrow and Marcus Macaulay closed out the point with a 6-3 win.
• Nick Lorenz won at No. 4 to make it 2-0 and Serra Sparrow won in three sets at No. 2 to make it 3-1.
• NJIT, however, won in three sets at No. 1 and in straight sets at No. 5 and No. 6 to complete the comeback.
• Against Nichols, Bryant swept doubles, winning in a tiebreak at No. 1.
• In singles, the Bulldogs won in straight sets at all six spots.
