Gendron leaves Bryant after 16 years

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- After 16 years of leading the Bryant men's tennis program to prominence, head coach Ron Gendron announced his resignation on Monday. Gendron leaves Bryant to take over the men's and women's tennis programs at Nichols College.

Gendron leaves Bryant as the winningest head coach in school history, posting a 200-163 career record. The Bulldogs won a league-record six-straight Northeast Conference Championships (2014-19) and appeared in six NCAA Tournaments. Gendron was named the NEC Coach of the Year a record seven-straight years (2013-19).

Bryant student-athletes excelled under Gendron, with three earning induction into the Bryant Athletics Hall of Fame. Gendron coached three NEC Player of the Years, including three-time recipient Matt Kuhar. In 2019, Gendron saw Kuhar and Wilson Dong become the first doubles team in NEC history to earn a spot in the NCAA Doubles Championships.
