SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's tennis team opened its weekend with a 6-1 victory over Connecticut on Saturday afternoon at Fore Court.

- The Bulldogs picked up the doubles points with wins at 1 and 2. Senior Luke Lorenz (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and freshman Grant Pertile (Edgartown, Mass.) won 6-2 at No. 2, while juniors Michael Plutt (Weston, Fla.) and Artur Jakubowski (Dallas, Texas) clinched the match at No. 1, 7-6 (7-2).
How it Happened (Singles)
- Bryant quickly claimed the match with wins at 1, 2 and 3. Playing at No. 1, Lorenz won 6-4, 6-1 to make it 2-0. Plutt then won at No. 3, 6-1, 6-2 and Jakubowski secured the win at No. 2, 7-5, 7-6 (7-2).
- Freshman Wilson Dong (Bradenton, Fla.) picked up a three-set win at No. 4, while Anshumat Srivastava (Patna, India) also won in three sets at No. 6.
