BRYANT MEN'S TENNIS FALLS TO BOSTON UNIVERSITY 6-1 SUNDAY
BOSTON - The Bryant University men's tennis team dropped a tough
6-1 decision to Boston University Sunday afternoon. The win by the
Terriers avenges a 4-3 defeat to the Bulldogs a year ago.
The Bulldogs opened strong, winning the doubles point to start
the match as Tom Nowak and Kevin Gardiner teamed to win at No. 2
doubles and Cristian Balestrieri and Andres Orobitig won at No. 3
doubles. But from there, it was all Boston University as the
Terriers won all six singles matches to take the match 6-1.
Balestrieri dropped a heartbreaker at No. 2 singles, falling to
Josh Friedman in three sets while Nowak battled hard against James
Bernstein only to come up short in three sets. Nowak fell 6-2
in the opener but rallied back to win 6-1 in the second. In
the third, both players fought hard before Bernstein would prevail
7-6.
