BRYANT WOMEN'S TENNIS ENDS FLORIDA TRIP WITH BIG 5-2 WIN OVER ST. JOSEPH'S

ORLANDO, FL – The Bryant University women's tennis team closed out its Spring Break trip to Florida with a big 5-2 win over Saint Joseph's Thursday afternoon.  The win moves the Bulldogs to 3-6 on the season overall and 2-1 on the three-match trip to the Sunshine State.

After falling to Creighton Monday, the Bulldogs defeated South Dakota State Tuesday 4-3 and used four singles wins and a strong doubles performance to defeat the Hawks in the final day of action in Orlando.

The Bulldogs earned wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to earn the important doubles point to open the match and carried the momentum into singles play.

Valeria Couto Cuervo, Dana Tausek, Katie McCabe and Talia Aviania all were victorious in straight-sets.  Couto Cuervo defeated Krysta Contino at No. 3 singles and Dana Tausek looked strong at No. 4, defeating Kary Borden 6-4, 6-2.

The Bulldogs return to action Wednesday at Fairfield.
