Women's Lacrosse Notches 23-11 Win Over Assumption College Saturday

Smithfield, RI - Allison Faiola (Billerica, Mass.) and Caitlin Hansen (Spring Lake, NJ) notched five goals apiece to lead the Bulldogs past the Assumption Greyhounds 23-11 on a blustery day at the Bryant Turf Field Complex.

The BUlldogs jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Tamara Bender (Mount Vernon, NH) found the back of the net just over a minute into the game. The Bulldogs would then answer with four unanswered goals and take a 14-4 lead into halftime. The Bulldogs would cruise to the victory, outscoring the Greyhounds 9 to 7 in the second half.

The win is the Bulldogs' second consecutive victory after beating Franklin Pierce 23-12 on Thursday night. The Bulldogs are now 5-3 and 3-1 in conference with their only loss in overtime Tuesday night at Bentley.

Bender would add three more goals on the game for a total of four and junior Delia Glover (Marston Mills, MA) would add three more. Sophomore Goalkeeper Jessica Bolton (Belgrade Lakes, ME) took the victory for the Bulldogs, tallying 14 saves.

 The Bulldogs return to action this Wednesday with a trip to Merrimack to face former Bryant Assistant Coach Corinne Baker and her Warriors at 7pm.
