University of Rhode Island Defeats Women's Tennis 9-0 Wednesday

Junior Michelle Burke dropped a hard-fought three set match to URI's Grace Hedstrom Wednesday.

 SMITHFIELD, RI - The University of Rhode Island women's tennis team opened Wednesday's match by sweeping all three doubles matches and won all but one singles match in straight sets in earning a 9-0 win over Bryant University in nonconference action at the Bryant Tennis Complex Wednesday.

Michelle Burke (Barrington, R.I.) battled back after dropping the first set to URI's Grace Hedstrom 6-2 to win the second set 6-4.  But Hedstrom would bounce back strong with a 6-0 third-set victory. 

The Bulldogs will travel to Southern N.H. for a Northeast-10 Conference matchup this Friday.
