SMITHFIELD, RI – (3/21/06)Stonehill College Kristin Darrell (West Islip, NY) scored five goals while Jenny McGrath (Milton, Mass.) and Michelle Kelly (Mendham, NJ) added four to help lead the Skyhawk women's lacrosse team to a 17-10 win over Bryant University Tuesday afternoon.  With the win, Stonehill improves to 4-0 on the season (1-0 Northeast-10) and extends the Skyhawks' win-streak to 31 games.   Stonehill, last year's NCAA Champions, also extend their Northeast-10 Conference win streak to 49 dating back to 2000.

Bryant (3-1, 1-1 NE-10) battled with the Skyhawks early in the first half as Shaun Leddy (Sea Girt, NJ) scored just 51 seconds into the contest on a free position shot to give Bryant it's only lead of the afternoon.  Stonehill quickly answered as Erin Acone (Bow, NH) knotted the game with a goal four minutes later.  With the game tied 2-2, McGrath and Acone each tallied scores to put the visitors back in front for good.

Stonehill led 9-6 at the half and broke the game wide open in the second by outscoring Bryant 6 to 1 over the first 15 minutes of the second half.  Kelly scored all four of her goals in the second half to help propel the Skyhawks.  Senior goalie Lauren Stone (Guilderland, NY) had 19 saves while Bryant goalie Samantha Libby (Penacook, NH) had 12 saves on 29 Stonehill shots.

Leddy finished with three goals in the game while Caitlin Hansen (Spring Lake, NJ) and freshman Delia Glover (Marston Mills, Mass.) also added three tallies on the day.
Bryant will travel to Merrimack next Tuesday for a Northeast-10 Conference game with the Warriors.  Stonehill will travel to AIC on Thursday for a 3:30 pm game in Springfield.
