BULLDOGS DEFEAT BENTLEY 16-3
SMITHFIELD, RI – Amanda Gallant (Andover, Mass.) netted five goals as the Bryant University women's lacrosse cruised past Bentley College 16-3 in a Northeast-10 Conference game played today at Bulldog Stadium.
Gallant scored all of her goals in the first half has Bryant (5-2, 2-1 NE-10) would score 13 in the first half in route to the win.
The Bulldogs took control of the game early, netting seven goals in the first 10 minutes of play. Melissa Talamini (Mendon, Mass.) put the Bulldogs up 1-0 with a goal just 37 seconds into the game. Gallant quickly made it 2-0 only 40 seconds later. Shaun Leddy (Seas Grit, NJ) would make it 3-0 a few minutes later with an unassisted goal.
Gallant would add another tally before Maureen Burns (Derry, NH) netted one with 25 minutes to go.
Bentley (3-5, 1-5) would get on the broad at the 14:37 mark when Kellyn Riccitelli netted a goal to make it 9-1.
The second half saw Talamini and Leddy score a goal a piece before Caitlin Hansen (Spring Lake, NJ) scored the final goal for the Bulldogs with two minutes to go. The Falcons would get two second half goals from Katie Van Horne with one in the 43rd minute and one with 30 seconds to go.
Samantha Libby (Penacook Hills, NH) got the win in goal for Bryant, as the junior finished with nine saves. Ashley Cope (Portland, ME) played the final seven minutes, recording a save.
Bryant will return to action Monday, April 11, hosting Southern Connecticut at 4:00PM.
