Women's Lacrosse Wins Fifth Straight

Bulldogs Run Win Streak To Five with 14-8 Win Over Assumption

WORCESTER, MASS. – The Bryant University women's lacrosse team extended its winning streak to five games with a 14-8 victory over Northeast-10 Conference foe Assumption on a chilly Thursday night at Worcester State.

With win, Bryant improves its record to 8-2 overall and 5-1 in Northeast-10 play, while Assumption drops to 3-5 and 2-3 in league play.

The Bulldogs were led by Shaun Leddy (Seas Girt, NJ), Marisa Lawrence (Falmouth, Mass.), and Lauren Carlisle (San Diego, Calif.) , each netting three goals on the night.

In the first half, Assumption took a 5-2 lead with seven minutes left before halftime, but Bryant closed the first 30 minutes with three straight goals from Caitlin Hansen (Spring Lake, NJ), Lawrence and Carlisle to make the score 5-5 at the break. 

From there, Bryant would open up the second half strong, outscoring the Greyhounds 9-3.  In fact, the Bulldogs scored the first seven goals of the second half to make it 12-5 and take control. Lawrence, Leddy, and Carlisle each had a tally during the scoring run.

Amanda Gallant (Andover, Mass.) also helped the cause scoring a goal and handing out four assists. Samantha Libby (Penacook, NH) got the win in goal Bryant making 10 saves.

Bryant will return to action on Saturday when the Bulldogs host C.W. Post at 12:00PM at Bulldog Stadium.
