FRANKLIN PIERCE DEFEATS BRYANT 7-2 IN MEN'S TENNIS
Bulldogs Handed First Conference Loss This Season
SMITHFIELD, RI - Franklin Pierce took two of three doubles matches and followed with a strong performance in singles play to defeat Bryant University, 7-2 in men's tennis action on a chilly afternoon here Thursday. For Bryant, it was the team's first Northeast-10 Conference loss of the season as the Bulldogs drop to 8-1 in league play and 12-4 overall.
Franklin Pierce led 2-1 after doubles play and won five of six singles led by Arun Lazarus' 6-3, 6-4 win over Bryant's Erik Zipp at No. 1. Helder Nogueira defeated Ben Caisse at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-1 while the lone win for Bryant came at No. 5 singles as T.J. Euley won 6-3, 6-2 over Eliot McClellan.
