SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Senior captain Kundayi Mawema (Harare, Zimbabwe) and sophomore Courtney Landi (Kingston, N.Y.) earned the Bryant University field hockey program's first-ever all-league honors, both earning All-Northeast Conference Second Team accolades for their 2009 season performances, as announced by the league at Thursday's awards banquet in Somerset, N.J.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Senior goalkeeper Kundayi Mawema (Harare, Zimbabwe) put up 11 saves while sophomore Courtney Landi (Kingston, N.Y.) notched her eighth goal of the season but it wouldn’t be enough to get past a tough La Salle side, as the Bryant University field hockey team fell in its 2009 season finale, 2-1, at the Bryant Turf Complex.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Junior Brittany Glenn (Easthampton, Mass.) scored off a penalty stroke with just 2:57 to play in Friday afternoon’s game between Bryant University and Monmouth, breaking a scoreless deadlock to notch the game’s only goal and lead the Bulldog field hockey team to a 1-0 victory over the Hawks.
