Team Gold wins Black and Gold Series In a Tiebreaker

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Led by MVP Jamie Skagerlind (Holden, Mass. / Wachusett), Team Gold was crowned champion in the fifth-annual Black & Gold Baseball Series at the Bryant Baseball Complex last week.
Team Gold claimed the title after each team finished with a 2-2-1
record and held the tiebreaker after their victory in a one-pitch
intrasquad series played on October 16th.
Skagerlind, the first
baseman, recorded at least one hit in every game, and hit .429
(6-14) with a double, two runs scored and a stolen base over the
five game stretch.
Mark Andrews (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) received his second straight Pitcher of the Series Award. In five innings of work, Andrews allowed just two hits and one unearned run while striking out three batters. He was the winning pitcher in both of Team Gold's victories
